At First UMC, we believe that everyone deserves a place to belong. Our doors are open, and we invite you to join our community as we journey together in the way of Jesus.
Located in the vibrant city of Warner Robins, Georgia, our church is a place where you can find connection, purpose, and spiritual growth.
Revived in 1941 with the arrival of Robins AFB, First United Methodist was also first in a lot of areas locally. They were the first church to sponsor Boy Scouts, the first church to offer preschool, the first to have a pipe organ and even the first with a church bus.
In 1955, this church helped organize a mission church in the northern part of the city known as Northview. Fifty charter members came from Warner Robins FUMC. In 1960, another mission church, Trinity Methodist church, was started on the east side of town with the membership coming from Warner Robins FUMC.
Over the years, Warner Robins has grown and much of the city has moved far out from our home of 205 North Davis Drive. But we, as well as several other original churches downtown, are committed to staying put, serving and helping within our home community. From the beginning of our existence, the church has been committed to ministry; international mission trips, soup kitchen, food bank, a TV and Hispanic ministry.
At First United Methodist Church, we have a variety of music styles that take place in worship.
On 1st and 3rd Sundays at First, we lean into that rich heritage of traditional hymns with the use of the magnificent Möller Organ, engaging our congregation, television audiences, and concert enthusiasts since 1980. We also incorporate acolytes, traditional vestments, and a variety of musical ensembles.
On 2nd and 4th Sundays, we create a more casual and comfortable atmosphere. Modern and contemporary music is played by the band, generating energy and passion as people lift their hearts and voices in praise and worship to God.
We are committed to living out the values of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to love God, love others, and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Our church offers various ministries and programs designed to help you connect with others who share similar beliefs and values. Through small groups, Sunday school classes, and fellowship events, you can build meaningful relationships and experience the love and support of a caring community.
We believe that spiritual growth is a lifelong journey. We offer opportunities for individuals of all ages to deepen their faith and knowledge of Jesus. Through engaging worship services, transformative Bible studies, and discipleship programs, you can explore and grow in your relationship with God.
As followers of Jesus, we are called to serve others. We actively seek ways to make a positive impact in our community and beyond. Through outreach projects, service initiatives, and mission trips, you have the opportunity to join us in demonstrating God's love through acts of kindness and compassion.

We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.
We believe in one God, who created the world and all that is in it. We affirm that God is known and experienced as the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus is the incarnation, the very embodiment of God's loving presence and power. We maintain that Christ is both fully human and fully divine. Jesus lived a sinless life, taught and showed us the way to live, was crucified, dead and buried. On the third day Jesus Christ victoriously rose from the dead.
We believe the Holy Spirit is God’s active presence that dwells within the lives of God’s people. The Holy Spirit works within personal experience and in the life of the Christian community to make God's redemptive love a tangible reality in our lives and in the world.
We believe the Bible is God's written word that reveals the character of God. We believe that it contains the truth about God, about life, about the relationship between God and all of creation, and contains everything necessary we need for salvation.
We believe in God’s eternal and unfailing love for everyone. There here is no place, no person, no action, nothing that can remove or diminish God’s great love for anyone. Through God's love, we are saved from our sinfulness by faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus. With the love of Jesus alive in us, we strive to share this love and salvation with the world through compassionate kindness.
We believe that Grace is the undeserved, unearned, unrepayable gift of the God who loves us enough to meet us where we are, but loves us too much to leave us there. Grace is the love of God at work within us to transform each of our lives into a unique expression of the love of God revealed in Jesus Christ, so that we become participants in God's transformation of the world.
John Wesley, the founder of Methodism viewed God’s grace working in primarily three ways:
Prevenient Grace – The grace of God that actively pursues us before we believe and trust our lives to Jesus.
Justifying Grace – The grace of God that restores us into a right standing and right relationship through the forgiveness of our sins through faith in Jesus. Through Jesus, we receive a new spiritual life and become the children of God.
Sanctifying Grace – The grace of God from the moment of our new life in Jesus to the day we go to heaven that enables us to grow more and more in the full love and likeness of Jesus.
We affirm Christ's saving work on the cross and that through His life, death, and resurrection, "God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us." (2 Corinthians 5:19) And our response to that completed work of Christ is to trust that it is enough. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8)”
We believe that the church is called to make and grow disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. It is the body of Christ that worships, serves, and lives the life of faith together. The church is the community that is called to live now as if God's future has already come.
In the United Methodist Church, baptism is a sacrament that signifies God's grace at work in our lives. It marks our initiation into the Christian community, symbolizing cleansing from sin and new birth in Christ. We believe that baptism is a gift of God's unearned grace and can be received at any age. Once baptized, we are called to live into our baptismal vows, growing in faith and love throughout our lives.
Holy Communion is a way we encounter the real presence of Christ, receiving His grace and being nourished for our spiritual journey. Through the sharing of bread and cup, we remember Christ's sacrifice, celebrate His resurrection, and participate in the unity of the body of Christ. This sacred meal is an open table meaning all are welcome because it is a sign of God's inclusive love and a foretaste of the heavenly banquet.
We believe that the kingdom of God is both a present reality and a future hope. God's kingdom is breaking in upon the world bringing peace and justice, compassion and hope, and the fulfillment of all God's purposes. Wherever God's power is, there too is God's Kingdom.
